WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES
Chowan enters the contest with a 1-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in league play after picking up a road win against Lees-McRae last week.
Destiny Robinson has three double-doubles so far on the season averaging 19.0 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. Aniah Patterson is averaging 10.7 points and 2.3 assists per game. Monique Jones is averaging 7.7 points and 5.0 rebounds a game while shooting 45.8% from the floor.
THWARTING THE BRAVES
UNC Pembroke is 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in league play. The Braves are coming off an exhibition win (65-45) against Winthrop on Saturday.
Gabby Smith leads the team with 12.0 points per game and 4.8 rebounds. Alcenia Purnell chips in with 10.0 points and 3.6 assists per game.
MEN'S BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan is searching for their first win of the season after a 0-3 start. The Hawks are coming off a loss to Elizabeth City on Sunday.
Jay Estime leads the team with 15.0 points per game. Christian Koonce is averaging 10.3 points, while Jaylen Dilliard upped his average to 9.0 points per game after a 17 point outing in his last contest.
HALTING THE BRAVES
UNC Pembroke, #16 in the D2SIDA National Poll, is 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in league play. The Braves are coming off their first loss of the season last week.
The Braves average 87.2 points per game led by Spencer Levi with 16.8 points a night. Jordan Ratliffe (13.4), Deon Berrien (12.6), and Tyrell Kirk (12.2) average double-figures.
