MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday.

Ysa Novak, Michelle Maksimovic, and Sierra Gonzalez tallied a shot on goal.
Allison Traub made three saves in the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Sabrina Henderson had the opening shot of the contest in the fourth minute that sailed wide. Cristina Flores posted a shot that went high in the ninth minute and Henderson had a shot blocked in the 13'.
In the 23', Ysa Novak posted a header on frame that was saved.
Both teams went into the intermission scoreless.
Second Half:
Belmont Abbey posted the opening goal of the contest in the 55' scoring near post to lead 1-0.
Allison Traub recorded three saves in the middle portion of the frame. Sierra Gonzalez tallied a shot on frame in the 74'.
The final attempt for the Hawks in the 88' coming from Michelle Maksimovic would be turned away.
