Hawks Soccer Host Barton In Midweek Showdown

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams hosts Barton for their final regular season home contest on Tuesday.

The Chowan Men's team will honor their seniors prior to their match.

WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES

Chowan snapped a four match skid with a win over Southern Wesleyan over the weekend to improve to 3-9-0 on the season and 3-6-0 in league play.

Carolina Lucci is coming off a hat-trick against the Warriors to post her sixth goal of the season.  Sabrina Henderson leads the team with eight goals and four assists after posting two goals against SWU.

Michelle Maksimovic tallied three assists on the season.

CAGING THE BULLDOGS

Barton enters the contest with a 6-5-1 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in league play.  The Bulldogs snapped a three match skid with a 2-0 win against Erskine over the weekend.

Hailey Russell leads the team with four goals.  Lexis Goldberg has found the back of the net three times, while Evie Kenna has two goals, both game-winners.

NATIONALLY RANKED MEN'S SOCCER UPDATES

Chowan has an 8-2-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 mark in league play.  The Hawks are 6-0-1 in their last seven matches while climbing to 19th in the country and third in the region.  Chowan is coming off a 5-4 win over Southern Wesleyan.

Toby Sims paces the offense with 10 goals on the season, second in the Conference Carolinas.  Harri Lovett has 11 assists, most in the league.  Erik Ruiz, James Randall, and Timo De Graaf have three goals each.  De Graaf scored a hat-trick against SWU.

AVOIDING THE BULLDOGS' BITE

Barton sits in fourth in the league standing with a 7-3-0 overall record and 6-1-0 mark in league play.

Luis Hernandez Velasco leads the team with eight goals.  Immanuel Akpeme has three goals off the bench.  The Bulldogs are allowing 0.90 goals per match this season.
