CENTRAL, S.C. – The nationally-ranked Chowan Men's Soccer team used a three goal first half as the Hawks brought home a 5-4 victory against Southern Wesleyan on the road in league action on Saturday.

Timo De Graaf registered his first career hat-trick with three goals. De Graaf's hat-trick is the first hat-trick since Marlone Nandjeu posted a hat-trick against SWU on March 7.
Toby Sims and Aldair Anica Hernandez also tallied a goal.
Harri Lovett collected three assists to take control of the program's career all-time assist mark, now with 22. James Randall, Erik Ruiz, and Wesley Illes posted an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Southern Wesleyan found the back of the net on their first shot attempt of the contest finding the top left corner to lead 1-0 in the third minute.
The Hawks would answer in the 11', as Harri Lovett sent a cross into the box off the corner finding Timo De Graaf for the equalizer.
Chowan continued to send shots at the SWU net as Aldair Anica Hernandez, Toby Sims, and London Williams had shots.
Toby Sims would give the Hawks a 2-1 advantage in the 31' as Harri Lovett found Sims off a set piece.
The advantage would increase to 3-1 in the 35' as Wesley Illes found Timo De Graaf for the goal.
Second Half:
Southern Wesleyan would claw back with a goal in the 47' to trail 3-2. The Hawks continued to pepper the cage with shots and corner kicks.
James Randall had a shot deflected by the keeper and find the foot of Aldair Anica Hernandez in the 61' to give the Hawks a cushion, 4-2.
Timo De Graaf would net his third goal in the 69' as Erik Ruiz and Harri Lovett teamed up for an assist off a corner kick to lead 5-2.
SWU made a push late finding the back of the net in the 83' and again in the 90' on a penalty kick to trim the deficit to 5-4.

Chowan will return home for their final regular season home match as the Hawks take on Barton on Tuesday, October 19. The Hawks will celebrate senior day prior to the match.
