Hawks Soccer Travel To Face Warriors

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams hit the road to take on Southern Wesleyan in a Conference Carolinas match on Saturday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES

Chowan comes into the weekend with a 2-9-0 overall record and a 2-6-0 mark in the league.  The Hawks are looking to halt their four match skid.

Sabrina Henderson paces the Hawks with six goals and three assists on the season.  Carolina Lucci has three goals and two assists.  Lillian DeLucca and Cristina Flores added their first goals of the season in their last match.

TROUBLING THE WARRIORS

Southern Wesleyan is 2-8-1 on the year and 2-5-0 in conference play.  The Warriors are 0-3-0 at home this season while only scoring one goal during that stretch.

Three Warriors have scored all of the goals this season as Cayla Hughes, Joy Namyst, and Bryanna Pickens have two goals each.

NATIONALLY RANKED MEN'S SOCCER UPDATES

Chowan has a 7-2-1 overall record and a 5-1-1 mark in league play.  The Hawks are 5-0-1 in their last six matches while climbing to 19th in the country and third in the region.  Chowan is coming off a 1-1 draw against Francis Marion.

Toby Sims leads the Hawks with nine goals from his backline position.  Harri Lovett paces the way with eight assists.  Erik Ruiz and James Randall has tallied three goals each.  Charlie Farrar has a 0.78 goals allowed against mark this season.

WARRIOR ATTACKS

Southern Wesleyan enters with a 4-6-0 overall record and a 3-4-0 record in league play.  The Warriors are winless at home this season with a 0-4-0 record.

Hykeem Martin leads the Warriors with six goals this season.  Diego Hernandez chips in with three goals.  The Warriors' keepers allow 2.79 goals per game while scoring 1.49 goals.
