MURFREESBORO, N.C. - With Chowan University's Homecoming week festivities nearing, the athletic department is making  fans aware of the precautions being taken because of COVID19 restrictions and potential community spread. Because of the condensed nature of the Camp Hall Parking Lot and the Grassy Knoll area of Garrison Stadium, all tailgating groups with more than 10 people will be moved to a reserved section of the Hawks Athletic Center for 10/16/2021.  

Please look for your own tailgating space in the HAC, as they will be marked with a sign and your club/group/organization. Reserved tailgating spots may be set up at as early as 9am. The space at the HAC allows cars and guests to spread out, while also enjoying the location. As you know, Garrison Stadium is just a short walk over Lake Vann Bridge to the ticket booth and main entry gate for the football stadium.  Athletics only provides the space. We do not provide tables, chairs, or tents. Please remember to be mindful of the shared space. 

As usual the following tailgating rules apply:

• Charcoal and gas grills are permitted but charcoal cannot be dumped anywhere on campus following its use. 
• Chowan University is a dry campus. 
• Be courteous of other tailgating groups in the area. 
• Entering any building on campus, a face mask must be worn.
• Only the bathrooms in the front lobby of the Hawks Athletic Center may be used during tailgating.
• Be mindful of other games and activities that are going on at the same time (volleyball home match, baseball and softball home alumni games). Parents, alumni, and fans will also be parking in the same lots around the building for these events.

HOMECOMING OVERFLOW PARKING

The campus has ample parking within walking distance of the main entrance and ticket booth at Garrison Stadium. Over flow parking is located at the Helms Center, the Vincent Center, and the commuter lots located off of Union Street. Parking is also available on Main Campus with a short walk to the stadium.  Tickets go on sale one hour prior to kick off at 12:00pm. 

Currently parking for all all of Chowan's athletic events is free of charge. Reserved parking is located at the Pond Center lot on football game days only. Only Brave Hawks Club Members giving at the Silver Level and above are permitted to park in the Pond Center lot.
