Hawks Women's Basketball Host Converse

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Coming off two losses in which the Chowan Women's Basketball team dominated the statistical categories, the Hawks return home to take on Converse in a pair of league games over the weekend.  The Men's Basketball game against Erskine for Saturday has been postponed.

NO SPECTATORS ARE PERMITTED INSIDE THE HAWKS ATHLETIC CENTER.

GAME NOTES

  • Last Game: Lost 76-73 to North Greenville on the road on Saturday.
  • Aniah Patterson posted a career-high 23 points to push her average to 10.7 points per game to lead the Hawks.  Monique Jones added 18 points to average 9.7 points per game.
  • The Hawks are third in the Conference Carolinas in rebounds per game at 41.0 a night.

  • Last Game: Lost 67-50 to Mount Olive at home on Tuesday.
  • Converse was picked to finish ninth in the Conference Carolinas after going 4-27 last season.
  • Lindsey Hardin averages 14.8 ppg to lead the Valkyries.  Hardin accounts for 29.6% of the offense.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.

Conference Carolinas will feature 11 members in the 2020-21 academic year before expanding to 13 teams for the 2021-22 academic year with the addition of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke.
