MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team gears up for their first postseason action as a member of the Conference Carolinas in a Quarterfinal match up with nationally-ranked Belmont Abbey on Tuesday.

HAWKS FILES – Women's Basketball
Chowan wrapped up the regular season with a 6-20 overall record and was granted the eighth seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship. The Hawks picked up two wins in their final three games to slide into the eighth position.
The Hawks gave Limestone everything they could handle in the final regular season contest before falling 78-72.
Mariah Coker leads the team with 12.0 points per game along with 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals.
Demetria Bland chips in with 7.8 points this season, while Destiny Robinson and Olivia Gaither average 6.8 points each. Robinson also hauls in 6.0 rebounds per night.
EYEING THE CRUSADERS
Belmont Abbey wrapped up the Conference Carolinas Regular Season Championship with a 26-2 overall record and a 21-1 mark in league play. The Crusaders are currently 10th in the nation and on a 16 game winning streak.
Allie Downing and Maria Kuhlman lead the team with 13.7 and 13.6 points respectively. Keyanna Spivey and Brittany Autry also score in double-figures for the Crusaders.

Belmont Abbey won both meetings this season with an 83-57 win at home on Dec. 3 before Chowan dropped the closer contest at home, 95-84, on January 28.
