HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Chowan Women's Tennis team handed Salem their first loss of the season in a 4-3 victory on Tuesday at the Hilton Head Spring TennisFest.

Arina Karbolina clinched the match with a tough three set victory after battling back from a set down to take the victory 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.  Stephanie Fernandez picked up the win at No. 2 6-2, 6-2.

Chowan took the doubles point at No. 2 and No. 3 with Stephanie Fernandez and Julieta Lecce securing the win 6-0.  Margarita Lopareva and Alexa Woolson won 6-2.
