PLAY4KAY CANCER AWARENESS EVENT

This is the 11th year that the athletic department, women's basketball program and SAAC will host the event, which is intended to raise cancer awareness along with money dedicated for cancer research. Chowan is set to host Limestone at 5:30pm in the Helms Center. The activities will go into the men's game following the women's game the same night.

We encourage fans and supporters to wear a color that represents the cancer color closest to your hearts.  Fans that wear the supportive cancer color will get into the game free of charge.

The entire night is dedicated to the fight against cancer and is geared towards to reach all facets of the greater Chowan community.   Chowan fans will can indulge in free pizza, photo booth, face painting, games, contests, silent auction and more.

The Play4Kay campaign has raised over $4.8 million to support women's cancer research since its inception in 2007.

It takes a village to battle cancer. Chowan is seeking cancer survivors to celebrate that village with a survivors/caretakers walk during halftime on February 25th. Survivors will have an opportunity to tell their cancer survivor story at halftime of the women's game. Survivors come in many forms, from family and friends who are offering care to those fighting or to a personal diagnosis. Help us celebrate our cancer survivors near and far on this special night.

The athletic department is hoping to once again have active community participation to help raise cancer awareness and funds for cancer research. To take part in this event please contact Meredith Long at longm@chowan.edu or (252) 398-6468.
