Chowan Basketball Takes On Warriors On The Road

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Basketball teams hit the road for their final road game of the season as the Hawks take on Southern Wesleyan tonight.

HAWKS FILES – Women's Basketball

Chowan will look to snap their five game losing streak as the Hawks dropped to 4-19 on the season and 4-15 in league action.  The Hawks sit in 10th in the league standings with three games to play and just one win shy of the elusive eighth spot.

Mariah Coker leads the team with 11.3 points this season.  Coker has 45 steals this season and sits three away from another DII milestone for the Hawks.

Chowan defeated Southern Wesleyan 81-55 on January 25.

FLANKING THE WARRIORS

Southern Wesleyan is 3-22 on the season and 3-16 in league play.  The Warriors have split their last four games.

Emily Waters paces the team with 11.3 points per game.  The Warriors average 54.2 points a game while allowing 76.1 points a night.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS – Men's Basketball
Chowan will look to end their six game slide as the Hawks moved to 8-15 on the season and 5-12 in league play.

BJ McLaurin paces the Hawks with 16.4 points and 11.5 rebounds this season.  McLaurin leads the Conference Carolinas in rebounds per game and is the only player in the league averaging a double-double.  Khalil Ridges has scored in double-figures in seven of the last eight games to average 13.8 points a game.  Jaylen Dilliard tallies 11.8 points a game.

Michael Kelly is coming off his best game of the season scoring 21 points on 10-13 shooting.

Chowan defeated Southern Wesleyan 68-55 on January 25.

WATCHING THE WARRIORS

Southern Wesleyan is 15-10 on the season and 11-6 in conference action.  The Warriors saw their four game win streak snapped in their last game.

Clenzo Ross (16.6) and Ta'Jay Dunlap (16.5) pace the Warriors' offense to a tune of 82.2 points a game.
