Hawks Hoops Host Barton In Midweek Clash

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Basketball teams host rival Barton in a Conference Carolinas match up on Tuesday.

Chowan dropped to 4-17 on the season and 4-13 in Conference Carolinas play after coming up short against Emmanuel over the weekend.

Mariah Coker leads the team averaging 11.6 points per game.  Coker grabs 4.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.0 steals per game as well.

Demetria Bland averages 8.6 points while Olivia Gaither chips in with 7.5 points per night.

Destiny Robinson is averaging 14.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in her last four contests with three double-doubles.

HARNESSING THE BULLDOGS

Barton enters the contest with a 17-5 overall record and 14-3 in league play this season.  The Bulldogs are on a four game win streak and is 9-1 in their last 10 games.

The Bulldogs are led by Shanika Peterkin averaging 16.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game.  Three other Bulldogs average double-digit point totals.

Barton registered 16 blocks against the Hawks in the last meeting.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS – Men's Basketball
Chowan slipped to 8-13 on the season and 5-10 in league play after a cold shooting night against Emmanuel over the weekend.

BJ McLaurin worked hard for his 13th double-double of the season to pace the squad with 16.9 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.

Khalil Ridges is averaging 13.8 points in 11 games this season.  Ridges is coming off a career-high 27 points against Belmont Abbey.  Jaylen Dilliard nets 12.0 points a night and is coming off a career-high 25 points, also against Belmont Abbey.

LEASHING THE BULLDOGS

Barton is 10-13 on the season with an 8-8 record in league action.  The Bulldogs are 3-8 on the road this season going 3-2 in their last five road games.

Isaiah Reddish leads the attack with 20.6 points per game.  Michael Boykin, Isaiah Buck-Lowman, and Blake Burdack average double-digits this season.
