MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Basketball programs will look to build off their Conference Carolinas sweep against Southern Wesleyan over the weekend when Belmont Abbey comes to town on Tuesday.

HAWKS FILES – Women's Basketball
Chowan picked up a dominating win over Southern Wesleyan to improve to 4-14 on the season and 4-10 in league play.
Mariah Coker scored 17 points in the win to reach the 1,000 career point milestone. Coker leads the team with 11.8 points per game. She also averages 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists a game.
Demetria Bland chips in with 9.1 points per game scoring in double-figures seven times this season. Olivia Gaither adds 7.7 points, while Aniah Patterson tallies 6.2 points a night.
SLOWING THE CRUSADERS
Belmont Abbey is one of the hottest teams in the league right now, winners of seven straight to move to 17-2 on the season and 12-1 in league play. The Crusaders are ranked in the top-25 in the nation.
Allie Downing and Maria Kuhlman lead the charge with 14.2 and 13.8 points per game. Brittany Autry and Keyanna Spivey are also in double-figures.
Belmont Abbey defeated the Hawks 83-57 on December 3. Chowan was held to 30.0% shooting, while the Crusaders shot 50.8%.
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS – Men's Basketball
Chowan picked up the league win over Southern Wesleyan to improve to 8-9 on the season and 5-7 in league play.
BJ McLaurin paces the team averaging a double-double with 16.1 points and 11.5 rebounds. McLaurin is coming off a single-game record 19 rebounds against SWU. Ja'Darien Wade and Khalil Ridges are averaging 11.9 points per game. Jaylen Dilliard is scoring 11.0 points a night.
CONQUERING THE CRUSADERS
After a hot start to begin the season, Belmont Abbey is 11-8 on the season with a four game losing streak. The Crusaders are 7-5 in league play.
DeQuan Abrom leads the team with 25.4 points per game, second in the Conference Carolinas. Romeao Ferguson scores 17.1 points a night.
