HAWKS FILES – Women's Basketball
Chowan battled tough before succumbing to Mount Olive on the road during the week to fall to 3-10 on the season and 3-6 in league play.
Demetria Bland and Mariah Coker lead the team in scoring with 10.8 points respectively. Coker scored 20 points against the Trojans during the week to inch closer to the 1,000 point plateau sitting with 930 career points.
WEATHERING THE TORNADO
King enters the contest with a 7-7 overall record and a 4-4 mark in Conference Carolinas play. The Tornado are coming off a blowout win against Converse during the week.
Trinity Lee leads the Tornado in scoring with 13.3 points a night. Three others are in double-digits for King, with a fourth sitting at 9.9 points.
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS – Men's Basketball
Chowan was tripped up on the road against Mount Olive in a revenge game as the Hawks fell short 86-83 to the Trojans during the week to fall to 4-8 on the season and 1-6 in league play.
Ja'Darien Wade leads the scoring for the Hawks at 15.3 points a game. BJ McLaurin climbs to 15.1 points a night and hauls in 10.6 rebounds to continue to lead the Conference Carolinas in that department. Jaylen Dilliard chips in with 12.3 points.
AVOIDING THE AFTERMATH
King sits with a 10-4 overall record and a 5-2 mark in league play. The Tornado are sixth in the D2SIDA Southeast Region.
Jordan Floyd ranks among the nation's leading scorers in the country at 29.4 points per game while shooting a blistering 50.0% from the floor. Three other Tornado players are in double-figures.
