CENTRAL, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team picked up the Conference Carolinas opening win in a shutout performance against Southern Wesleyan on the road.

Chowan peppered the cage leading to a 29-8 advantage on shots.
Harry Ardron netted his third goal of the season. Joury den Boogert added an assist.
Ross Miller picked up the win in goal with eight saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Harri Lovett started the assault on the cage in the second minute with a shot. Mitchell Levi Lewis ripped a shot towards cage and made the Southern Wesleyan back line make a defensive save. Levi Lewis posted another shot on frame but was saved by the keeper.
The Hawks continued to send shots towards the cage but were turned away. Both teams headed into the break scoreless.
Second Half:
The assault continued into the second half with several shots by the Hawks. Chowan was able to find the back of the net as Joury den Boogert found Harry Ardron for the first tally in the 57' for the 1-0.
In the 79', Chowan had a chance to make it 2-0 but the Warrior's keeper would save the penalty kick.
