CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team saw their 221 minute shutout streak come to an end as the Hawks allowed two first half goals to fall to Queens in non-conference action on the road on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Both teams would feel each other out in the early portion of the match as Queens registered three shots. In the 20', Toby Sims would notch the first shot of the contest for the Hawks but his headed attempt would go high.
Sam Hall posted a shot on target in the 32' but was saved by the Royals' keeper.
Queens would take advantage of a deflection in the 42' to take a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later, the Royals added a second goal to take a 2-0 lead before the half on a corner kick.
Second Half:
Mitchell Levi Lewis and Harrison Ardron would put shots on frame in the early going but were denied. The Hawks had two corner kicks but were unable to convert.
Chowan had a great chance in the 69' to cut into the deficit as Mitchell Levi Lewis received a pass in the middle of the box, but the attempt would sail over the crossbar.
Another good look at the cage by Danny Gallegos would be deflected out and miss the far post. Gallegos would have a second attempt off the corner but same result.
In the 85', Trevin Myers sized up the heading attempt but sailed the attempt over the crossbar.
The Hawks had a free kick just outside the box in the final minutes but the chance by Joury den Boogert would be unsuccessful.
