SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Chowan Women's Tennis team dropped 5-2 in a Conference Carolinas match to Converse on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:
The Hawks dominated doubles play for an early 1-0 lead. Cynthia Carrier and Arina Karbolina grabbed the No.1 doubles victory 6-3 over the Valkyries.

At the No.2 doubles position, Julieta Lecce and Angelique Gouin secured the 6-3 win for the Blue and White, before Converse picked up the third doubles match by default from Chowan.

In Singles:
The Hawks dropped the No.1 singles match with Cynthia Carrier 6-3, 6-4, before Arina Karbolina slipped 6-3, 6-0 at the second singles match.

Julieta Lecce recovered for the Hawks at the No.3 singles position with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over the Valkyries.

Angelique Gouin fell short 6-4, 6-2 at the fourth singles match.

Converse claimed the No.5 singles 6-0, 6-0 over Claire Revelle, before they grabbed the No.6 singles match by default from the Hawks.

The Hawks will continue on the road for Gaffney, S.C. to match up with Limestone in conference play. Match is set for 12:00pm.
