MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse came up short against Catawba in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

Tashana Barnett led the Hawks with three goals. Raven Finley-Flowers netted her first collegiate goal. Jordan Nicholson and Misten White added a tally.
Mallory Dunker took the loss in goal stopping 10 shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Catawba struck quickly for the opening goal. Tashana Barnett recorded the first shot for the Hawks on a free position, missing wide. The Indians pushed ahead with two more goals in the opening 10 minutes of action.
Tashana Barnett would record a shot on goal but was saved by the Indians goalkeeper. Misten White had a free position attempt saved.
The Indians would strike twice to lead 5-0. Mallory Dunker made two saves to keep the score at 5-0. Tashana Barnett found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 5-1 midway through the half.
Catawba would take control of the contest pushing their advantage to 12-1. Raven Finley-Flowers would slow the attack with a free position goal.
Second Half:
The Indians scored twice in the first five minutes of the half to lead 14-2. Misten White scored a man-up free position goal to trim the deficit to 14-3. Jordan Nicholson posted a goal to close the gap to 14-4 midway through the final stanza.
Catawba tacked on two more goals before Tashana Barnett found the back of the net on a free position shot. The Indians pushed ahead to an 18-5 advantage late in the half.
Tashana Barnett would find the back of the net for the final tally.
