MURFREESBORO, N.C.-The Chowan Women's Tennis team were unable to overcome the Bulldogs of Barton 6-1, in conference play on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:
Doubles duo, Cynthia Carrier and Arina Karbolina picked up the No.1 doubles match 7-6 (8-6) for the Hawks, before Julieta Lecce and Angelique Gouin slipped 6-3 at the second doubles position.

The Bulldogs claimed the No.3 doubles by default from the Hawks.

In Singles:
Senior, Cynthia Carrier kept the momentum going by grabbing the No.1 singles 6-4, 6-2 for the Blue and White.

At the No.2 singles match, Arina Karbolina was unable to fend off the Bulldogs 6-0, 6-0, before teammate, Julieta Lecce fell short 6-2, 6-3 in the third singles position.

Barton claimed the No.4 singles 6-2, 6-2 over Angelique Gouin before securing the match win with a victory at the fifth singles 6-0, 6-1 over Claire Revelle.

The Hawks will continue with conference play on March 22 when they travel to Tigerville, S.C. to match up against North Greenville.
