MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team suffered a 19-3 home loss to Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

Leslie Escobar, Jordan Nicholson, and Misten White recorded one goal each.
Shaena Ravenell recorded seven saves on the afternoon.
Belmont Abbey did most of their damage in the first half with 16 goals. The Crusaders slowed their attack posting three goals in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Belmont Abbey jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first five minutes of action. Jordan Nicholson tallied the Hawks' first shot but went wide.
The Crusaders pushed their advantage to 9-0 before Karly Timmons' free position attempt sailed high.
Lela Knight had her free position shot saved as Belmont Abbey led 14-0.
Misten White and Leslie Escobar would find the back of the net late in the half on man-down goals.
The Crusaders led 16-2 at the break.
Second Half:
The scoring would slow in the half as Shaena Ravenell recorded a couple of saves early. Jordan Nicholson tallied a free position goal to trim the deficit to 17-3.
Jasmine Latney posted a shot on frame but was saved by the Crusader keeper. Misten White had her free position shot saved to end the attempts for the Hawks.
