CENTRAL, S.C. – The Chowan Baseball team rallied in the late innings of the day game before free passes hurt the Hawks in the nightcap as Southern Wesleyan took the series after the doubleheader split in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday.

Josh Vincent improved to 3-1 on the hill tossing the complete game allowing two runs off six hits.
Trenton Lee picked up four walks on the doubleheader. Nick Rose went 4-9 with a double.
Harley Davidson went 3-5 at the plate with two doubles and two RBI.
Chowan allowed 12 free passes in the doubleheader.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Chowan 4, Southern Wesleyan 2
Trenton Lee picked up the two out walk and moved to second on the failed pick-off attempt but was left stranded to open the contest.
Southern Wesleyan used a double and a single to post the first run of the contest in the bottom of the first. Three free passes and a single in the second allowed the Warriors to lead 2-0.
Chowan would cut the deficit in half with a run in the fourth inning. Trenton Lee drew a lead-off walk before Marquise Lanier singled and Jack Kane walked to load the bases. Jared Fry plated a run on the ground out.
The Hawks evened the score in the sixth inning as Nick Rose doubled to left field. Trenton Lee moved Rose to third on the sac bunt before Jack Kane singled to right to plate Rose for the 2-2 tie.
In the seventh inning, Dallas Trevena doubled to left to start the inning. Harley Davidson produced a pinch hit single to left. Davidson would swipe second before Anthony Jefferson singled home Trevena and Davidson for the 4-2 lead. A fielder's choice and a strike out ended the threat.
SWU would put two runners on in the bottom of the inning but Josh Vincent picked up the strikeout and a fly out to end the game.
Game Two: Chowan 4, Southern Wesleyan 13
Chowan recorded the first run of the contest in the top of the first inning as Trenton Lee posted a two out walk. Marquise Lanier doubled home Lee for the opening run. The Hawks left a run on the board as a dropped pop-up was not taken advantage of.
SWU countered with four runs in the bottom of the inning as the Hawks posted an error to start the inning. A hit by pitch and two doubles led to the 4-1 lead for the Warriors.
The Hawks picked up a run in the third inning to trim the deficit to 4-2. Anthony Jefferson led off with a walk. Nick Rose moved Jefferson to second on the ground out before swiping third. Trenton Lee hit a sac fly to plate the run.
In the fourth inning, Chowan trimmed the deficit to 4-3. Jack Kane started off the inning with an infield single. Kane swiped second and came around to score on Harley Davidson's double to left.
The Warriors answered in the fourth with two runs with three hits and two ground outs to lead 6-3. SWU posted three more runs in the sixth inning to lead 9-3.
Chowan looked to put a dent in the deficit in the seventh inning. Anthony Jefferson and Nick Rose singled with one out. Trenton Lee drew a walk to load the bases. A ground out and a fly out ended the threat.
SWU added two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to lead 13-3. The Hawks scratched across a run in the top of the ninth as Trenton Lee, Marquise Lanier, and Jack Kane produced a single.
