FLORENCE, S.C. – The Chowan Women's Tennis team slipped to the Patriots of Francis Marion 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
With a doubles sweep Francis Marion led the Hawks 1-0 into singles play.

In Singles:
Cynthia Carrier dropped her first set 6-2 at the No.1 position. Carrier recovered at the second set 6-4 but was unable to secure the tiebreaker 10-6 for the Hawks.

At the second singles match, Arina Karbolina picked up the lone win for the Blue and White 4-6, 7-5, 1-0, before teammate, Julieta Lecce was def. 6-2, 6-0 by her opponent.

Angelique Gouin fell 6-1, 6-0 at the fourth singles match before Claire Revelle was def. 6-0, 6-0.

The Patriots picked up No.6 singles match by default for the Hawks.

Chowan will hit the road to travel to Hilton Head, S.C. to compete in the 2019 Spring Tennis Fest. The Hawks will take on Indiana (Pa.) on Monday, March 11. Match time is set for 2:00pm
