MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team suffered a loss in the season opener for the Hawks against Mount Olive on Wednesday afternoon.

Misten White recorded the lone goal for the Hawks in the second half. White recorded two shots.
Tashana Barnet tallied four draw controls on the afternoon. Tahvae Burton led the team with four ground balls. Tahvanee Burton and Jasmine Latney recorded three ground balls each.
Shaena Ravenell took the loss in goal stopping nine shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Mount Olive tallied two quick goals before the Hawks were able to get a shot off. Tashana Barnett recorded a shot on goal but was saved.
Misten White would tally a shot on goal in the 11th minute but was also saved. Shaena Ravenell recorded five saves in the opening 30 minutes.
Mount Olive would end the half on an 11-0 run to lead 13-0 at the intermission.
Second Half:
The Trojans continued to score in the second half despite the running clock. UMO stretched their lead to 19-0 midway through the half.
Misten White would break up the shutout taking the ball down the middle of the crease and finding the back of the net.
UMO pushed their advantage to 26-1 to take the victory.
