BELMONT, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team saw their season come to a close in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon as the seventh seeded Hawks fell to the second seed Crusaders 2-0.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Belmont Abbey outshot the Hawks 21-13 but held a slight advantage 10-6 in on frame targets.
Chowan did post 12 corner kicks in the contest.
Lillian DeLucca recorded four shots in the contest with two opportunities on frame. Sabrina Henderson posted three shots with two on goal.
Lynzie Hulle recorded eight saves in the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Belmont Abbey would take a 1-0 lead on their first attempt of the contest just 2:31 into the match.
Sabrina Henderson posted the first shot for the Hawks missing right. Henderson would add another shot that forced the Crusader keeper to make a save.
Midway through the half, Lillian DeLucca and Shannon Park forced saves but was unable to find the back of the net.
Belmont Abbey took their 1-0 lead into the locker room.
Second Half:
Chowan continued to look for the equalizer as Emily Trueman and Lillian DeLucca's attempts would miss.
Lynzie Hulle kept it a 1-0 match making two stops in the 76'.
The Hawks had four corner kicks over a 90 second span that did not find the Hawks in the 81-83'.
Belmont Abbey found an insurance goal in the 86' to take the victory 2-0.
