MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Behind a dominating second half, the Chowan Men's Soccer team soared to a 4-0 shutout victory against Lenoir-Rhyne in non-conference action on Wednesday.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Four different Hawks scored and three recorded assists. Mitchell Levi Lewis recorded three points with three assists to become the program's all-time assist leader with 18. Trevin Myers tallied two assists. Sam Hall added an assist and a goal.
Danny Gallegos scored his first goal of the season, while Harrison Ardron netted his ninth. Toby Sims added his fourth of the season.
Chowan made the best of their chances notching four goals on five shots on target. The Hawks recorded seven total shots.
Ross Miller picked up the clean sheet for his fifth win of the season with two saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
In a physical contest, Chowan went on the attack in the sixth minute grabbing a corner kick and a headed attempt. Toby Sims' attempt sailed wide of the mark.
Lenoir-Rhyne had two shots that were wide of the goal before the Hawks found the back of the net in the 21'. Mitchell Levi Lewis played the ball from the left side of the box to Trevin Myers. Myers would slot the ball to Sam Hall who made two touches and sent the ball between a defender's legs and into the bottom right corner for the 1-0 lead.
L-R had a couple chances to find the equalizer in the first half as two attempts went high and one was blocked.
In the 39', a dangerous ball in the box would be cleared off the line by the back line defense of the Hawks to keep the Bears scoreless.
Second Half:
The physicality continued as five yellow cards were handed out in the first 15 minutes of the half. The Hawks used that to their advantage as Trevin Myers stepped in front of a misplay and went on the counter attack near the box. Myers would slide the ball to a wide open Harrison Ardron to put the Hawks up 2-0.
The Hawks would add two more goals in the 68' and 71' to lead 4-0. Sam Hall started the attack on the first goal navigating a through ball up to Mitchell Levi Lewis near the left side of the box. Levi Lewis played the ball through the teeth of the defense to find the streaking Danny Gallegos for the goal.
After a foul was granted on the edge of the box after Joury den Boogert was fouled, Mitchell Levi Lewis curled a free kick that found the head of Toby Sims on the right side of the box, who drilled it into the far post for the goal.
Ross Miller's day was fairly easy as the only attempt can in the final seconds of the match.
