BRISTOL, TENN. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team extended their winning streak to three matches as the Hawks used a strong first half to soar to a 2-1 win over King in Conference Carolinas action on the road on Saturday.

Lillian DeLucca and Carolina Lucci found the back of the net for the Hawks in the win.
Karissa Grooms, Stephanie Quintanilla and Shannon Park added an assist each.
Lynzie Hulle picked up the win in goal with three saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan would strike first on their first attempt of the contest. The Hawks were awarded a corner kick. Stephanie Quintanilla sent it in from the right side and found the head of Shannon Park who headed the ball to Lillian DeLucca to finish off the attempt to put the Hawks up 1-0 in the seventh minute.
The Hawks would strike again in the 27' as Karissa Grooms played a through ball through the midfield and found Carolina Lucci on the breakaway. Lucci would sprint past the defenders and beat the Tornado keeper on the 1v1 into the right post.
The Tornado would find the back of the net right before the halftime whistle as King scored following a corner kick to trim the deficit to 2-1.
Second Half:
Chowan would outshot the Tornado 10-3 in the second half and keep the score in favor of the Hawks to maintain the win.
The Hawks forced the Tornado keeper to make three saves in the second half.
