Chowan starts off the 2019 season with an 8-4 overall record and winners of their last five contests. The Hawks completed the month of December unbeaten. CU moved into the top-10 in the D2SIDA Atlantic Regional Poll sitting at tenth overall.
Danielle Weldon leads the team averaging a double-double with 14.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest. Jada Lee is averaging 10.3 points per night.
Mariah Coker (9.6), Olivia Gaither (8.5) and Jordan Pettaway (8.1) round out the top-five scoring for the Hawks.
SCOUTING THE LADY INDIANS
Catawba sports a 6-4 overall record as a member of the South Atlantic Conference. The Lady Indians have won four of their last five but is 1-3 on the road this season.
Taisha DeShazo leads the trio of double-digit scoring with 15.1 points per game. Talia Barnes and Madison Hallman are averaging 12.4 and 10.8 points respectively.
SERIES MEETINGS
Chowan and Catawba will meet for the second time in the series with the Lady Indians picking up a close 75-72 decision in Salisbury last season.
