GAME NOTES
HAWKS' PROMISING START TO 2018
Chowan opened the season on the road against Division I Campbell in Week 1 of the season. The Hawks fell 49-26 to the Camels but showed promise on both sides of the football. Chowan forced three takeaways with two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Calvin Stephens returned an interception for a touchdown.
Bryce Witt led the offense with 191 total yards and a rushing touchdown. Redshirt freshman, Sha'Von Harkless produced two receiving touchdowns out of the backfield in a back-up role. Harkless would add 42 yards rushing on the evening.
John Kight helped the Hawks flip the field on several occasions posting a 44.9 average per punt including two over 50 yards. Kyeem Perry averaged 21.0 yards per return on kickoffs including a 52 yard return.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Davidson picked up their first win of 2018 against Division III member, Brevard, 34-13. The Wildcats have struggled over recent seasons posting 2-9 records in each of the last three seasons. Out of their seven wins since 2015, Davidson recorded only one win against a Division I opponent, Stetson, on November 21, 2015, when the Wildcats won 20-17.
Davidson used the ground attack for most of the night against Brevard rushing for 354 yards on 50 carries. Tyler Phelps, starting quarterback, went 5-12 for 94 yards and a touchdown through the air. Wesley Dugger grabbed a bulk of the carries with 118 yards on 17 attempts and a touchdown. William Wicks touched the ball six times for 88 yards rushing and 36 yards receiving with two touchdowns.

Chowan and Davidson will meet for the first time in the series. The Hawks are 1-10 against Division I opponents under Coach Tim Place, picking up a win against Delaware State in 2015.
