MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced its Football Players of the Week on Monday afternoon, with Chowan football earning two conference honors as Tyler Adkins was named Offensive Player of the Week and Altiziano Edwards was selected as Defensive Player of the Week following the Hawks' 28-21 victory over Ferrum College on Saturday afternoon.

Adkins led the Hawks' offensive effort in the conference road victory, completing 22-of-39 passes for 452 yards and three touchdowns. The quarterback connected with three different receivers for scores, helping Chowan overcome a second-quarter deficit and secure its fourth conference victory of the season. The honor marks Adkins' second Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week selection.

Adkins opened the scoring with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Dezmond Randoplh in the first quarter. After Ferrum took a 14-7 lead into halftime, Adkins connected with Amir Alexander for a 32-yard touchdown in the third quarter to even the contest. He later found Luke Krall for a 26-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Hawks the lead. Adkins finished with his second 450-yard plus passing performance of the season.

On the defensive side, Edwards delivered one of the biggest plays of the afternoon, recovering a Ferrum fumble and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown with 5:26 remaining in the fourth quarter. The defensive score extended Chowan's lead to 28-14 and marked Edwards' second fumble recovery for a touchdown this season.

Edwards finished the contest with two total tackles while making a game-changing play that helped the Hawks maintain their advantage late in the fourth quarter. His second defensive touchdown of the season continued to highlight his impact on the defensive side of the ball.

The performances from Adkins and Edwards helped Chowan secure a 28-21 conference victory over Ferrum, improving the Hawks to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in Conference Carolinas play. Chowan will return home on Saturday, November 7, to host Shorter University for Senior Day and the annual Hall of Fame Game at Garrison Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
