WINGATE, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer battled to a 0-0 double overtime against Wingate in a non-conference match on the road.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Both teams had stalwart goalkeepers not allowing a goal in the contest. The backline defense of Jamie McNicholas, Djordge Novovic, Toby Sims, and Danny Gallegos kept the Bulldog attack off the board.
Elliot Chadderton posted his first clean sheet of the season stopping two attempts by Wingate.
Wingate outshot the Hawks 17-8 but held the slight advantage on target attempts, 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
In the fifth minute of action, Chowan was the beneficiary of the offside call as Wingate's attempt was nullified.
Harry Garstang would record the first shot for the Hawks with a header that just missed from the middle of the box in the 18'.
The Bulldogs would look to put a tally on the board in the 27' with a corner kick but the ensuing shots were blocked and sent wide. Another dangerous ball by Wingate in the 29' was denied by the backline defense of the Hawks.
In the 32', the Hawks garner a corner kick but the second attempt into the box floated out of play. Mitchell Levi Lewis posed the biggest threat in the half for the Hawks as a curling free kick ended up in the hands of the Bulldog keeper.
Late in the opening stanza, Chowan was granted a corner kick but couldn't find a Hawk on the end of the attempt.
Neither team was able to score in the opening frame of the contest in a defensive battle.
Second Half:
The Hawks went on the attack early in the second half earning a corner kick in the 49', a second and third service into the box was cleared away by the Bulldogs.
Wingate looked to have the opening salvo of the contest in the 54', but a back-heel flick by Djordge Novovic saved the attempt and kept the contest scoreless.
Coming off a free kick, Djordge Novovic was unable to steer the attempt into the back of the net midway through the second half.
The Bulldogs grabbed a corner kick in the 70' and 71' but was turned away by the Hawks' defense. In the 76' the Bulldogs posted their first shot on frame but was denied by Elliot Chadderton for the save.
Wingate continued to push forward in the 81' as a free kick was denied once again by Chadderton to keep the match scoreless.
Lee Wattam looked to break the scoreless match in the 88' but was sent wide right.
Both teams were unable to find the back of the net in regulation.
First Overtime:
Wingate was the aggressor in the overtime period as the Bulldog attack went off the crossbar in the 94'. The Bulldogs posted two more shots in the period but were turned away.
Second Overtime:
Both teams posted a shot in the second overtime but sailed high in the attempts.
