MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team picked up their first win of the season behind a career day on the pitch by Sabrina Henderson as the Hawks defeated Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon, 5-1.

Sabrina Henderson tied a program best with four goals in a single game to earn her first collegiate hat-trick.
Carolina Lucci scored a goal and added three assists on the afternoon. Sydney Lenhardt, and Rebekah Langley tallied an assist.
Olivia Borer and Danielle Acree kept the Warriors out of the net for most of the contest allowing one goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Carolina Lucci ripped a shot from outside the box but was deflected over to Sabrina Henderson. Henderson would find the far post from outside the 18-yd box for the early 1-0 lead.
Sabrina Henderson would give the Hawks a 2-0 advantage in the 15' as Lucci fought through the teeth of the Warriors' defense and slid a pass over to Henderson for the short poke in front of goal.
Carolina Lucci would find the back of the net herself in the 17' as Lucci would take the pass from Sydney Henderson from midfield. Lucci would fire a shot from just inside the box to find the far post.
Southern Wesleyan would cut the deficit to 3-1 late in the first half.
Second Half:
Off a free kick by Sydney Henderson in the 53', Sydney Lenhardt would play the ball over to Sabrina Henderson on the right side of the goal for her hat-trick.
Rebekah Langley and Carolina Lucci would team up for an assist on another Sabrina Henderson goal in the 65' as Henderson's heading attempt from the middle of the box found the back of the net.
