HARROGATE, TENN. – The Chowan Volleyball team dropped their final contest of the SAC Crossover on Saturday afternoon to Lincoln Memorial, 3-0.

Milica Vejnovic led the Hawks offensively with four kills. Sydney Hiner and Kayla Gates registered three each. Hiner led the Hawks with two service aces and 17 digs.
LMU notched 13 service aces and recorded five blocks in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Set:
Kayla Gates started off the set with a kill before a 9-0 run by LMU opened up the opening set, 10-1. Courtney O'Keefe slowed the threat with a kill. LMU posted three errors before Gates notched another kill trailing 18-6.
The Railsplitters took the opening set 25-7.
2nd Set:
LMU opened up the second set much like the first leading 11-3 early as the Hawks grabbed points on errors. Sydney Hiner would pick up the first kill for the Hawks in the set. A kill by Milica Vejnovic closed the gap to 14-10.
The Railsplitters pushed the advantage to 24-13 following a kill by Breona Young before taking the set 25-14.
3rd Set:
The third set played different than the previous two sets as points were traded until 9-9. Breona Young aided the early success with a kill and a block. Courtney O'Keefe and Milica Vejnovic continued the success with a pair of kills.
Following a kill by Sydney Hiner, the Railsplitters went on a 7-0 run to lead 18-10. Milica Vejnovic slowed the attack with a kill.
Courtney O'Keefe and Kayla Gates added a kill to the mix but LMU took the set 25-13.
UP NEXT
Chowan will regroup during the week to focus on the CIAA Round Up I hosted by Virginia State on September 8-9. The Hawks will face St. Augustine's, Fayetteville State, Claflin, and Shaw.
