PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Gaby Rivera-Garcia of the Chowan Women's Golf team sits T7 after completing the opening round for the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship on Friday afternoon.

Leading the field is St. John's with a 72 by Linda Wang while Rachele Orme from Savannah State sits in second place with a 74. 

Chowan's Gaby Rivera-Garcia currently sits T7 after carding a 82 in the opening round just two strokes away from third place. With five pars Rivera-Garcia records a 40 for the front nine before posting a birdie on the 11th hole and three pars on the back nine.
