SUMTER, S.C.-The Chowan Women's Tennis team advanced in the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship with a 5-0 sweep over the eighth-seeded Converse on Friday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:

• Hawks doubles duo, Polina Novachuk and Cynthia Carrier defeated their opponents 8-0 at the No.1 doubles match. 
• Victoria Smolchenkova and Hanna Tarlouskaya picked up the No.2 doubles match 8-2 while, Angelique Gouin and Lenka Styblova grabbed the No.3 doubles match 8-2 for the Blue and White. 

In Singles:

• The Hawks took a strong 3-0 lead heading into singles play. 
• Angelique Gouin won the No. 6 singles match with a clean 6-0, 6-0. 
• Lenka Styblova secured the match win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No.5 singles.
