SUMTER, S.C.-The Chowan Women's Tennis team grabbed a 5-0 victory in the semifinals of the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship over the fourth-seeded Belmont Abbey on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:

• Chowan grabbed the No.1 doubles match 8-1 with Polina Novachuk and Cynthia Carrier while, Victoria Smolchenkova and Hanna Tarlouskaya secured the No.2 doubles win 8-5 over the Crusaders.
• At the third doubles match Angelique Gouin and Lenka Styblova picked up the 8-3 victory for the Blue and White. 

In Singles:

• Heading into singles play, the Hawks took a early 3-0 lead.
• Cynthia Carrier beat her opponent 6-0, 6-2 at the No.2 singles match before senior, Lenka Styblova secured the match win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No.5 singles. 

UP NEXT
The Hawks will take on the third seeded Limestone Saints on Sunday, April 22 in the Conference Carolinas Championship finals. Match time is set for 1:00pm at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
