MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 16-2 decision in non-conference action on Monday afternoon to Chestnut Hill.

Alexandria Hammonds scored both goals for the Hawks. Leslie Escobar recorded the assist. Hammonds and Tashana Barnett picked up four draw controls each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan stayed close with the Griffins as the Hawks and Griffins traded goals in the first five minutes. Leslie Escobar found Alexandria Hammonds for the first goal of the contest for Chowan to knot things at 1-all.
Chestnut Hill would run off seven straight goals to lead 8-1. Alexandria Hammonds would end the scoring drought with a free position goal with 1:47 left in the half.
The Griffins tallied two more goals to end the half to lead 10-2 at intermission.
Second Half:
Chowan was shutout in the second half as the Griffins allowed only five shots in the final 30 minutes. Jasmine Latney, Heather Orell, and Tashana Barnett recorded shots in the half.
Chestnut Hill posted six goals in the second half to take the win 16-2.
