MURFREESBORO, N.C.-The Chowan Women's Tennis team improved to 12-3 on the season and 6-0 in conference play with a 8-1 victory over Limestone on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:
The Hawks swept doubles play over the Saints for a strong 3-0 lead into singles play.

In Singles:

• Polina Novachuk grabbed the No.1 singles match 6-1, 6-1 for the Hawks, while teammate Cynthia Carrier secured the 6-4, 6-2 victory at the No.2 singles position.
• The Saints grabbed their lone 7-5, 6-0 win over Hanna Tarlouskaya at the third singles match.
• Victoria Smolchenkova secured the 8-4 win for Chowan at the No.4 singles, while Lenka Styblova defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1.
• At the No.6 singles match Angelique Gouin beat her competitor 8-2 for the win.

UP NEXT
The Hawks hit the road on Wednesday, April 4 as they travel to Wilson, N.C. for a conference match up against Barton. Match is set for 2:00pm
