Hawks Women's Tennis Remain Perfect after Valkyries Sweep

MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Chowan Women's Tennis team remain undefeated in conference action after a 9-0 victory over Converse on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:
The Hawks swept doubles for an early 3-0 lead into singles play. 

In Singles:
  • Polina Novachuk kept the momentum at the No.1 singles match with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
  • Cynthia Carrier and Hanna Tarlouskaya each picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No.2 and No.3 singles respectively.
  • Victoria Smolchenkova grabbed the No.4 singles 6-1, 6-2 for the Blue and White, while teammate Lenka Styblova beat her opponent for the 6-0, 6-0 win at the fifth singles position.
  • At the No.6 singles match Angelique Gouin won 6-0, 6-0 for the Hawks.

The Hawks are back on home court as they host the monarchs of Methodist on Sunday, March 25. Match time is set for 3:00pm at the Rose Family Tennis Courts.
