BELMONT, N.C.- The Chowan Women's Tennis team remains undefeated in league play after securing the 8–1 victory over Belmont Abbey on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles:

• At the No.1 doubles Polina Novachuk and Cynthia Carrier grabbed the 8-2 victory for the Hawks.
• Victoria Smolchenkova and Hanna Tarlouskaya picked up the No.2 doubles match 8-3 before Angelique Gouin and Lenka Styblova slipped 8-3 at the No.3 doubles position. 

In Singles:

• With Chowan leading 2-1 heading into singles play. Polina Novachuk kept the momentum at the No.1 singles match with a 7-5, 7-5 win.
• Cynthia Carrier picked up the No.2 singles victory with a clean 6-0, 6-0 before Hanna Tarlouskaya defeated the Crusaders 6-1, 6-1 at the third singles match.
• Victoria Smolchenkova grabbed the No.4 singles 6-3, 6-1 for the Blue and White, while teammate Lenka Styblova beat Belmont Abbey to the 6-0, 6-1 win at the fifth singles position.
• At the No.6 singles match Angelique Gouin won 6-1, 6-2 for the Hawks.

UP NEXT
The Hawks return home on Friday, March 23 for a conference match up against Converse. Match time is set for 3:00pm at the Rose Family Tennis Courts.
