Women's Basketball
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan enters the tournament with an 18-8 overall record and the fifth seed in the CIAA Northern Division.
Chantel Roberts and Dhyamond Crenshaw were named All-CIAA selections during their senior seasons. Roberts is averaging 16.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game to lead the team. In CIAA action, Roberts is averaging 17.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per outing. Crenshaw is posting 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds a night.
Mariah Coker chips in with 12.3 points and 5.5 assists per contest. Danielle Weldon adds to the mix with 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds a game.
In the previous meetings this season the Hawks won both outings by an average of 30 points.
FALCONS FILES
St. Augustine's finished the regular season with a 7-18 overall record and the fifth seed in the CIAA Southern division.
Kaaliya Williams leads the Falcons in scoring with 15.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Men's Basketball
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan finished the regular season with an 11-15 overall record and the fifth seed in the CIAA Northern Division.
Tim Hewett leads the team with 15.8 points per game. Demetrius Sanders improved his scoring average to 14.3 over the past five contests. Robert Grubbs (13.1) and Gus Rowland (12.7) are in double-figure scoring.
FALCONS FILES
St. Augustine's comes into the tournament with a 13-14 overall record and the fourth seed in the Southern Division. The Falcons snapped a three-game skid in their finale against Fayetteville State.
The Falcons won both meetings this season. St. Augustine's won 68-64 in Murfreesboro and followed up with a 71-58 win in Raleigh.
All-CIAA selections, Tyre Gathright and Quincy January lead the team with 15.3 and 12.3 points per contest.
