MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team dropped their Conference Carolinas league opener to Mount Olive on Wednesday, February 14, 20-5.

Misten White led the Hawks with two goals. Alexandria Hammonds, Jasmine Latney, and Tashana Barnett tallied one goal each.
Tashana Barnett and Heather Orell posted an assist each in the loss. Orell corralled five draw controls as Alexandria Hammonds picked up four.
Emily Bush took the loss in cage surrendering 18 goals and had nine saves.
The Trojans outshot the Hawks 37-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan fell behind early as the Trojans raced out to a 4-0 advantage ten minutes into the half. Alexandria Hammonds scored an unassisted goal to halt the attack.
Mount Olive held the Hawks scoreless until 9.3 seconds left in the half as Heather Orell found Misten White for the goal.
UMO led 10-2 at the break.
Second Half:
Misten White found the back of the net for her second goal of the contest to cut into the deficit 11-3.
UMO went on a seven goal run to extend their lead to 18-3. Tashana Barnett scored an unassisted goal with 6:08 remaining.
Tashana Barnett found Jasmine Latney as time was running down for the final tally of the contest.
