DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team dropped their season opener 20-6 to Embry-Riddle on Saturday afternoon on the road.

Alexandria Hammonds netted her first hat-trick of the season with three goals. Heather Orell scored two goals.
Sabrina Isch scored once, while Jasmine Latney tallied the lone assist.
Emily Bush took the loss in cage picking up 10 saves and 10 ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Embry-Riddle scored four straight goals to open the contest before Alexandria Hammonds put the Hawks on the board midway through the half on a free position goal.
Sabrina Isch would tally her first collegiate goal in the 17' of play on a free position attempt to bring the contest to 5-2 in favor of the Eagles.
The Eagles scored five straight goals to take a 10-2 advantage before Heather Orell halted the run with a free position goal with 7:06 left in the half.
Embry-Riddle took a 13-3 lead into the halftime break.
Second Half:
Alexandria Hammond found the back of the net for her second and third goals of the contest to trim the deficit to 14-5 with 20 minutes to play.
Heather Orell would find the final goal of the contest for the Hawks with 6:27 remaining off a pass from Jasmine Latney.
The Eagles held the Hawks scoreless to take the 20-6 victory.
