Chowan enters the contest with a 3-4 overall record. The Hawks are coming off a strong showing against Division I Elon in an exhibition.
Danielle Weldon paces the offense with 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest. Jada Lee is in double-figures with 10.6 points.
Mariah Coker and Jordan Pettaway chip in with 8.7 and 8.3 points per game respectively.
DECLAWING THE LADY PANTHERS
Claflin comes to Chowan with a 4-3 record and unbeaten in CIAA play with a 2-0 record. The Lady Panthers are 1-2 on the road this season.
Ashley Fields leads the Lady Panthers with 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists a game. Dashia Jackson and Deja Dickens are in double-figures with 11.7 and 10.6 points respectively.
Men's Basketball
HAWKS SOARING HIGH
Chowan is off to their best start in Division II history with a 5-0 start. The Hawks are coming off a double-digit victory over rival, Elizabeth City State, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday.
Demetrius Sanders leads the team with 16.0 points and 8.6 rebounds a game. Timothy Bing (14.8), Gus Rowland (13.0), Michael Kelly (11.2), and Robert Grubbs (10.2) score in double-figures for the Hawks.
AVOIDING THE PANTHER ATTACK
Claflin enters the contest with a 2-5 record and have fallen in three straight contest. The Panthers sit with a 1-1 record in the CIAA.
The Panthers have three players scoring in double-figures led by Danny Brown at 14.9 points per game. Triston Thompson is at 14.6 and Jaimik Moore pours in 14.0 points a night.

This will be the first ever meeting between Chowan and Claflin.
