CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team wrapped up their preseason action with an exhibition against Division I Charlotte on Saturday afternoon.

Jada Lee led the Hawks with 12 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Pettway posted eight points, while Danielle Weldon chipped in with seven points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Mariah Coker gave the Hawks an early 2-0 lead on a jumper following a missed jumper. Danielle Weldon posted a layup following a steal by Mariah Coker.
Charlotte would take the lead 8-4 on a 6-0 before Jada Lee netted a lay-up. Joanne Williams went 1-2 from the charity stripe. Jordan Pettaway picked up two points at the stripe to trim the deficit to 13-10.
The 49ers finished off the quarter on a 5-0 run to lead 18-10.
Second Quarter:
Charlotte opened up the quarter on a 10-4 run as Jordan Pettaway scored both baskets for the Hawks.
Jahkeria Bagbey would post two buckets in the quarter as Charlotte pulled away 38-20 at the half.
Third Quarter:
Out of the intermission, Charlotte extended their lead with a 7-2 run as Jordan Pettaway tallied the lone basket.
Danielle Weldon and Jada Lee trimmed the deficit to 45-26 midway through the quarter with a pair of baskets. Lee knocked down the only three in the contest for the Hawks.
Charlotte would take a 56-32 lead into the final quarter of play.
Fourth Quarter:
Kaylah Henderson knocked down the first bucket for the Hawks in the quarter. Before the media timeout, Jada Lee posted a jumper. Danielle Weldon converted the three-point play out of the timeout to trim the deficit to 66-40.
Charlotte would end the contest on a 12-4 run.
