Chowan improved to 3-3 on the young season after defeating Limestone on the road before the holiday, 68-57.
Danielle Weldon leads the team with 16.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Jada Lee is averaging 11.7 points and a touch under five assists a contest.
Mariah Coker and Jordan Pettaway chip in with 9.0 and 8.0 points a night.
LEASHING THE BULLDOGS
Barton has raced out to a 5-0 record and comes off a 63-58 victory against Elizabeth City State on Nov. 19.
Kianna Wynn and Alex Kimble lead the team with 17.7 and 17.1 points per game. Dinah Neal and Karimah Dean are also averaging double-figures.
Barton won the Conference Carolinas Tournament last season and picked second in the league this season.
EXTINGUISHING THE PHOENIX
Elon is 1-3 on the season and losers of two straight. The Phoenix skated past Belmont Abbey in an exhibition, 58-54, to start the year.
Ariel Colon, Emily Maupin, and Lexi Mercer have a balanced attack with 12.8, 12.5, and 12.3 points per game respectively.
