HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

Mount Olive led 6-2 early as Michael Kelly tallied the lone bucket during the stretch.  Kelly would add another bucket before Timothy Bing and Demetrius Sanders closed the gap to 10-8 with a bucket.

The Trojans stretched the lead to 19-14 before Gus Rowland found Timothy Bing for a three-pointer.  UMO continued to push out in front stretching their lead to double-figures, 31-21, midway through the half.

The Hawks would go on a 12-2 run to even the contest at 33-all as Timothy Bing dialed up a shot from long distance along with a layup by Michael Kelly to spark the rally.  Kelly completed the three-point play before a Gus Rowland jumper and a dunk by Demetrius Sanders evened the contest.

The Trojans countered with a 12-1 run to push the lead back to double-digits, 45-34, before a 14-4 run by the Hawks evened the score once again at 48-all with just over a minute to play in the half.

Gus Rowland scored seven points during the stretch as the Hawks trailed 51-48 at intermission.

Second Half:

Mount Olive started the half on an 11-3 run, but the Hawks would not go away quietly as an 11-0 run knotted things at 62-all at the media timeout.  Robert Grubbs and Timothy Bing knocked down back-to-back triples along with a putback by Demetrius Sanders and a fastbreak layup by Bing.

After a pair of triples by the Trojans, Gus Rowland and Robert Grubbs connected from deep and a dunk by Demetrius Sanders gave the Hawks the 70-68 advantage.

A quick 10-0 spurt by the Hawks sparked by a jumper by Michael Kelly gave the Hawks the momentum.  Robert Grubbs and Timothy Bing knocked down triples and capped off by a Gus Rowland layup gave the Hawks the 80-70 lead.

UMO trimmed the deficit to 82-78, with 3:55 to play in the contest but a four-point play by Timothy Bing pushed the lead back to eight.  Gus Rowland went 5-6 from the stripe to salt away the victory for the Hawks.
