Chowan dropped a tough home contest on Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne to drop to 2-2 on the season.
Danielle Weldon has started her senior season strong with double-doubles in two of the three games. Weldon is averaging 17.3 points and 13.0 rebounds a game. .
Jada Lee and Mariah Coker chip in with 12.5 and 10.0 points a game.
PACING THE PATRIOTS
The Patriots have fresh legs playing their first game of the season on Nov. 13 and haven't played since. Francis Marion is 1-0 on the season after defeating #21 Wingate in their season opener on the road.
Shaunice Fulmore leads the team with 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Alliyah Gillespie went 4-5 from behind the arc on her way to 15 points.
Men's Basketball
HAWKS HITTERS
Chowan moved to 2-0 on the season with a convincing victory over Mid-Atlantic Christian. Ja'Darien Wade leads the team averaging 23.5 points. Demetrius Sanders is recording 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds a game.
Timothy Bing (15.0), and Michael Kelly (10.5) are in double-figure scoring. Gus Rowland is averaging 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game this season.
THE ROYAL TREATMENT
Regent is 0-5 on the season and comes off a loss against Mars Hill on Saturday.
Kristopher Warren, Markel Riggins, and Andrew Walston lead the Royals in scoring.
SERIES RECORDS
Chowan leads the series against Francis Marion, 2-1, with the Hawks picking up the last two meetings. Expect a close contest as the score has been decided by five points in both of the last two meetings.
The Hawks and Regent have never faced one another as the Royals just started their basketball programs.
