HAWKS HITTERS
Chowan is off to a 2-1 start this season after earning their second straight win of the season with a 67-55 victory over Mount Olive on Wednesday evening.
Danielle Weldon has started her senior season strong with double-doubles in two of the three games. Weldon is averaging 20.0 points and 13.3 rebounds a game. Joanne Williams is close to averaging a double-double with 9.7 points and 10.0 rebounds.
Jada Lee and Mariah Coker chip in with 12.3 and 10.0 points a game. Jordan Pettway rounds out the top-five with 8.0 points an outing.
Chowan is averaging 73.0 points and 49.3 rebounds per contest this season.
TRAPPING THE BEARS
Lenoir-Rhyne come into the contest fresh off their first win of the season to pull their record to 1-2. The Bears dropped the opening two contests against Lander and USC Aiken before defeating UNC Pembroke on the road.
Madi Suddreth and Kendall Toineeta lead the Bears offensively with 17.3 and 14.3 points per outing. Suddreth also leads the team with 7.3 rebounds per game.
The team averages 61.7 points per game while grabbing 36.7 rebounds.
SERIES RECORDS
Chowan and Lenoir-Rhyne will meet for the second time in the series. The Hawks defeated the Bears 74-68 last season in Hickory, N.C.
Joanne Williams posted a double-double along with Jada Lee, Mariah Coker, and Danielle Weldon scoring in double-figures.
