MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team starts their home schedule on Wednesday as the Hawks host Mount Olive in a non-conference contest.

HAWKS HITTERS
Chowan is off to a 1-1 start this season after splitting the opening tournament on the road over the weekend. The Hawks dropped the opener against Glenville State before rebounding against West Virginia State.
Danielle Weldon has started her senior season strong with a pair of double-doubles. Weldon is averaging 21.5 points and 15.5 rebounds a game. Joanne Williams is also averaging a double-double with 12.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a night.
Jada Lee and Mariah Coker chip in with 10.0 points a game. Jordan Pettway rounds out the top-five with 8.5 points an outing.
DETECTING THE TROJAN HORSE
Mount Olive started the season off with a win against St. Augustine's this weekend, 78-69. The duo of Makayla Nichols and Felecity Havens paced the Trojans with 26 and 23 points respectively.
From the opening game, UMO received 69 of the 78 points from their starters.
Mount Olive is picked to finish fifth in the Conference Carolinas.
SERIES RECORDS
Chowan and Mount Olive will meet for the sixth time in the series. The Trojans lead the series 4-1 with the Hawks picking up the win in the last meeting on the road, 80-77.
