HALL OF FAME GAME & CU TEAM DAY
The CU Athletics Department will recognize the 2018 CU Athletics Jim Garrison Hall of Fame class at halftime of the game. In between quarters, all athletic teams will be recognized and are asked to dress in team issued gear.
HAWKS FLYING ALL OVER
Chowan is second in the league in points per game averaging 39.5 points after posting 45 points last week against Virginia State.
The Hawks offensively, lead the CIAA in yards per game with 490.1 yards with the second most passing (285.4, behind Bowie State) and third most rushing (204.8, behind Virginia Union and Fayetteville State). Chowan leads the league in first downs per contest at 25.0 per game.
Tyrell Freeman needs 124 yards rushing to become the second Hawk to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. Freeman needs 189 yards to become the single season rushing holder.
TAMING THE LIONS
Lincoln (Pa.) comes into the contest with a 1-8 record. The Lions picked up their first win of the season against Elizabeth City State two weeks ago, 21-20.
The Lions have struggled to find offense this season averaging 6.9 points per game and only 11 first downs per contest. Most of the struggles can be attributed to turnovers as the Lions have 14 interceptions and 13 lost fumbles. The defense has given the ball back to the offense 14 times on 11 fumble recoveries and three interceptions. Lincoln is 2-12 in the redzone this season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Chowan and Lincoln will meet for the ninth time in the series with the Hawks holding the 7-1 lead. Chowan has won the last six meetings including the past two meetings where the Hawks have posted 73 points in both contests. Chowan defeated Lincoln 73-30 last season and 73-0 in 2016.
ON THIS DATE
Chowan has played twice on November 3 and has a 1-1 overall record. The Hawks dropped the 2007 meeting with then, DII Presbyterian, 62-10 on the road. Chowan would pick up the win at home against Lincoln in 2012 with a 35-19 victory.
